Last week, a new record was set for the most expensive Rolex ever sold at auction. The Rolex reference 6062 that set the record was the personal wristwatch of the last emperor of Vietnam, Bảo Đại. The timepiece was expected to sell for upwards of $1.5 million but ended up selling for $5,060,427 USD.
It’s easy to see why the watch sold for so much. The yellow gold Rolex features a black dial with the moon phase in yellow gold as well as diamond markers on the even hours. More pictures below:
